| Announcements - April 2009 TERM 4 (April to June) will commence effectively as follows; April 2 – SAS evening training Note of remaining matches in JSSL League till season’s end: U8 Premier League (PL) – 1 game each team, Remaining match dates: April 19 – U8 Premier League (PL) final matches + medals & U8, U10 & U12 Championship League (CL) BRIEF UPDATE ON ALL LEAGUE TEAMS U14 Premier League ISA White clinched second spot after a good run towards the end of season producing excellent matches with high scoring victories. ISA Red came in fifth in a season where we saw an ever-changing squad owing to players’ other commitment. U12 Premier League ISA Red & White currently first & second on the table respectively with three rounds to go. Both teams produced breath-taking football every round & set high standard of play which every team tries to emulate. They are maintaining ISA’s 1-2 finish in this age-group for the last 5 seasons. U10 Premier League ISA Red came in third unfortunately after setting the pace all season through. Performing consistently with a full squad each round is what this team should try to achieve. White, Green & Yellow battle every match with great attitude and finished 6 th, 7 th & 8 th respectively. This augurs well for future season. U8 Premier League ISA Red is joint top and the final top-of-table match on April 19 will see the winner takes it all. ISA White may just finished fourth while Yellow & Green are going through a developmental season. U8, U10 & U12 Championship League U12 Blue looks set to clinch the title while Orange & Violet would have done better granted a full squad each round. U10 Orange on second spot now looks to secure the silver. Blue & Violet are shaping well in this developmental season especially the Violets, the only all-Girls team who performed well amongst the boys. U8 Blue & Orange are a joy to watch as the 6 year olds tasted league action and progressing nicely throughout the season. Summer Camps We will be running 10 weekly 5-day camps throughout the summer break. Look out for details below or in the Downloads page.

Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden, July 12-18 ISA will be represented in this prestigious youth tournament attracting teams from all over the world akin to a ‘Youth World Cup’ with two teams, Boys’ U13 & U16. We will have the proud honour of displaying the Singapore flag first time ever in the grand Opening Ceremony to be attended by more than 30,000 participants in the newly re-constructed Gamla Ullevi Stadium. At present, over 60 nations have registered. Visit www.gothiacup.se for more details. Both squad will be undergoing intensive team & tactical training in preparation to compete at this high level. It will be a great experience for the boys, parents & nevertheless ISA coaches! Fund-raiser for Gothia Cup We initiated this as we intend to bring a number of under-privileged trainees to Gothia Cup. Considering the high costs their parents have to bear, we hope to raise enough funds in making these kids’ dream come true. We had our first fund-raiser by means of a Quadrangular Challenge of our U17 ESPZEN squad, Dads’ Army, Bukit Timah Veterans & a team made up of our ex-internationals which featured local legends, Dollah ‘Gelek King’ Kassim and V ‘The Dazzler’ Sundramoorthy among others. The downpour didn’t dampen our spirits and we were treated to exciting matches added with a Penalty Shoot-outs for all our young trainees who pitted themselves against Coach Yazid Yassin, goalkeeper for SLeague club, Geylang United. Kids had a blast when they scored as Coach Ismail & Naplah took turns to do push-ups each time. Kids got their ‘revenge’ & our U17 captured the trophy. So far, we collected $1,500 and are well off our target of $15,000. Amidst the global uncertainties, we still hope to realise our target and would appreciate your kind donation or sponsorship in any form.
