| Announcements - August 2008 New Term One 2008/09 (August to October 2008) We are pleased to advise that we will commence our new term 1 on; August 14 – SAS evening training and We look forward to your continuing support as we prepare for another gruelling competitive season ahead. Please also note of Season 2008/09 training term’s quarters; Term Two (October to December 2008) JSSL-Arsenal League (August 2008 to May 2009) We will be forming teams to represent ISA in the upcoming league once every trainee has settled in. All trainees will be considered for selection based on merit and ability to commit for alternate Sundays’ matches for the whole season. There will be two separate leagues this time for all age-groups (U8, U10, U12 & U14) namely “The Premiership” (League A) and the “Championship” (League B). .UK Summer 2008 Tour (July 20 to 31, 2008) Our largest entourage ever of 34 trainees embarked on a week’s residential attachment in Manchester United Soccer School which proved to be beneficial and successful with over 250 participants from all over the world. 14 boys & 1 girl (Samantha Wang) formed the U11 team while another 13 boys & 1 girl (Morgan Allen) for the U14. 5 boys trained with the U16 mixing with trainees of various nationalities. From Day 1, all ISA trainees thoroughly enjoyed the superb coaching sessions conducted by experienced MUSS coaches. Favourable weather, excellent pitches and equipment made the stay more memorable. In enrolling as a team, ISA were granted friendly matches with the local Stafford Rangers on Day 3. The U11 won handsomely 9-3 gaining admiration from everyone. The U14 made a determined comeback from 0-2 down to win 6-3 with strong performances from Morgan & Louis Speelmans. In the internal Football Festival on Day 5, two sets of U11 teams came in first and second in a 6-aside league of 6 teams. ISA ‘A’ went unbeaten while ISA ‘B’ lost once in the ‘confrontation’ of ISA teams. Unfortunately, U14 went down 0-3 to a mix of Spanish & Italian boys in an 11-aside match. While ISA trainees won numerous individual awards for producing exemplary MUSS’ ethics, Maximillian ‘Max C’ Schoeffel won the overall award unanimously picked by the 16 MUSS coaches. Over then to Ayshire in Glasgow Scotland, again both the U11 & U14 produced strong performances. U11 won 4-0 & 3-1 in a triangular tournament with Troon FC & Valspar FC while the U14 won 3-0 & 4-0 to mark a fruitful Day 1. Day 2 saw ISA boys on the pitch of a packed Ayshire Stadium for a photo-session with the Glasgow Ranger’s reserve team in a testimonial match. Sweet memories are made of these! Day 3 was an eye-opener to the physical nature of compact 5-aside matches as lethargy & injuries crept in. But the boys bounced back on Day 4 where the U14 were triumphant by winning 4-0 & 3-1 in another triangular with Ayr Thistle FC & Southside FC. We look forward to another great summer trip as we plan for attachment with Barcelona FC and a tourney in Tenerife.

ISA Fiesta, Awards & BBQ (June 8, 2008) We wish to thank everyone involved for making our inaugural event a success albeit with room for improvement with your feedback and encouragement in hosting this annually. Exciting matches ala Euro2008 were seen throughout the day in all age-groups with fathers volunteering as team coaches. 2 sets of Fathers’ teams, our U17 and Bukit Timah Veterans then battled for the Fiesta Quadrangular but the day was made special when 12 mothers gamely participated in a mini-match. Numerous awards were given out to our trainees for their effort in the whole of 2007/08 season. (Click here for Coach Yazi’s ode to ISA). Achievement for season 2007/08 Our U8 were finally rewarded with the JSSL-Arsenal’s championship by being unbeaten. U10 suffered an unfortunate blip to finish third after a great run towards the end but this team has captured everyone’s admiration with numerous championships locally and abroad. U12 teams produced a 1-2 finish where ISA successfully defended the championship. Our First team made up of our U17, coaches and fathers clinched the inaugural ESPZen Men’s Saturday League. This team will try to emulate the previous U17 batch who won 5 consecutive ESPZen’s Sunday league championships and three other knock-out Cups. ISA is proud to announce that we are the most successful team to date in the amateur Men’s League where we also captured the 2008 Champions Cup to add to our glorious achievement.
